Saudi Businessman Offers $10 Million for Shoes Thrown at Bush

bushoe1.jpgSaudi businessman Muhmad Hassan Mahafa is offering $10 million for the �shoes of freedom� as he calls them, referring to the shoes thrown at President George W. Bush by Iraqi journalist Muntazer al-Zaidi during a press conference between Bush and the Iraqi president.

Mahafa explains that he prefers to buy the shoes than to than to leave millions to his six children. �I am not doing this for business, but for the honor of the Arab world� he told reporters.

YWN reported the story of the shoe-throwing incident on Sunday. The president responded quickly and avoid being struck.

Al-Zaidi was praised and enjoys the support of her employer, who runs the Al-Baghdadia channel which broadcasts from Cairo.
