PM Netanyahu Responds To Remarks Hinting He Opposes Relocating US Embassy To Jerusalem

United States Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Sunday explained the Trump administration is evaluating the ramifications of moving the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in an effort to ascertain if such a move would help or harm the diplomatic process between Israel and the PA (Palestinian Authority).

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu responded, “Israel’s position has been stated many times to the American administration and to the world. Moving the American embassy to Jerusalem would not harm the peace process. On the contrary, it would advance it by correcting an historical injustice and by shattering the Palestinian fantasy that Jerusalem is not the capital of Israel”.

Adding to this, on Thursday, 15 Iyar, Mr. Netanyahu called on all nations to relocate their embassies to Jerusalem, Israel’s eternal capital.

Speaking to Meet the Press, Secretary Tillerson stated “The president is being very careful to understand how such a decision would impact the peace process”.

There are ongoing rumors and undertones that it is the Israeli administration, and not the White House, which is delaying the move.
