MDA Has Already Tended To Four Cases Of Drowning Today; 61 Since Beginning Of Swimming Season

A busy swimming season has hit MDA forces throughout Israel over the past few months with 61 drowning cases. Only today, Sunday, 8 Tammuz, , MDA has treated four different cases of drowning:

  • A 70-year-old male who drowned and was pronounced dead in Bat Yam
  • A youngster in his twenties whose body was found in the Galilee Sea
  • A 60-year-old woman who drowned in the Dead sea
  • An 87-year-old woman who drowned at a beach in Tel Aviv

Since the beginning of swimming season 9 individuals were pronounced dead as a result of drowning, 4 were in critical condition, 3 in severe condition, 6 in moderate condition and 39 in mild condition. 7 of the 61 individuals were tourists.

MDA Director General, Eli Bin: “MDA forces are on high alert during the summer months due their many dangers, one of those dangers is drowning. I call the general public to adhere to the instructions of lifeguards at the beaches and the pools, make sure to adhere to safety guidelines at private swimming pools, avoid unnecessary risks and adhere to MDA’s safety instructions so we can enjoy the summer safely.
