Speaking with Galei Yisrael Radio on erev shabbos, Aryeh Deri used the forum for apologize for his “white people and Russians” statement which has drawn harsh criticism. Deri stated “I want to sincerely apologize. I was way out of line. This is not who I am and it is not the way I speak and my offensive remarks were simply way out of line.”

Deri stated emphatically, “There are my brothers. I am not embarrassed to apologize and when errs, one must apologize. Such a statement will never be heard from me again or from others in the party.”

  1. I’m glad he chopped how stupid it was!

He lost lots of respect with that statement!

Deri proved that he is just another politician, albeit a “frum” politician.

Copying the “American left” using scare tactics and playing the race card definitely works, BUT its not the yiddisher way and therefore wrong for a “Frum” politician to play that game.

If he had specific cases where he found the Likud party discriminate against someone, He should point it out, but to make statements with the sole purpose to scare and divide is wrong!

  2. Hmm, guess it is not too important to pass judgement from the heart to the brain before exiting the mouth if you are a politician. Just say, oops, I apologize for bad thinking…
