Turkish police report four men are under arrest after they tried selling a stolen Sefer Torah to an antiquities merchant, telling the merchant the Torah is ancient, dating back 2,000 years.

The merchant suspected something wasn�t kosher since he feels the oldest Sefer Torah available is 500 years old, and such a find would be rare. He notified police.

Authorities are working to determine the actual age of the Sefer Torah and to track down its owner.
