A security guard at a school on Tabor Street was stabbed and moderately injured while a second employee who came to his assistance sustained a light wound to one of his extremities. The attack occurred at about 9:00am Monday morning, 10 Shevat 5773.

According to a Ichud Hatzalah report, the assailant fled the scene. Police report he made off with the guard’s gun. The guard was injured as he tried to fight off the attacker.

While it appears the attack was a criminal act, police have not ruled out the possibility that the stabbing was a terror attack.

The wounded were transported by MDA to HaEmek Hospital in Afula.
