Senior government officials have informed the Biden administration that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will announce a halt of the judicial reform, Ynet reported on Monday afternoon.
Netanyahu was set to announce the suspension of the judicial reform on Monday morning at about 10:00 a.m. but delayed the step after National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir threatened to dissolve the government. At this point, there are rumors that Netanyahu will wait to see the extent of the turnout at the right-wing protest outside the Knesset on Monday evening before issuing any announcements.
The White House issued a statement on Sunday, following Netanyahu’s dismissal of Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
“We are deeply concerned by today’s developments out of Israel, which further underscore the urgent need for compromise,” a statement from NSC spokesperson Adrienne Watson said.
“As the President recently discussed with Prime Minister Netanyahu, democratic values have always been, and must remain, a hallmark of the U.S.-Israel relationship. Democratic societies are strengthened by checks and balances, and fundamental changes to a democratic system should be pursued with the broadest possible base of popular support. We continue to strongly urge Israeli leaders to find a compromise as soon as possible. We believe that is the best path forward for Israel and all of its citizens. U.S. support for Israel’s security and democracy remains ironclad.”

This Judicial reform is simply not sleepy joe’s business, and Bibi is accountable to his 2 Million voters, and not to sleepy joe.
Biden doesnt have the nouse (wit-driven intellect)
to understand that this is a war he cannot win
”(for my name is Rumpelstilskin)”
Isn’t the purpose of the reform to strengthen the check and balances???
Does he mean the Israeli/Arab conflict? Does he know what he means? If he can mix up China and Canada, he can certainly mix up Palestine, Ohio and Israel. I did however notice that he did not wish to directly involve himself in the Palestinian issue and so he stayed away from Palestine, Ohio until he couldn’t any longer.
“Democratic societies are strengthened by checks and balances, and fundamental changes to a democratic system should be pursued with the broadest possible base of popular support. ”
Indeed. That is exactly why these reforms are so necessary. Where was the “broad base of popular support” when the judiciary and the civil service seized power in the 1990s? What checks or balances exist against the judiciary and the civil service? Democratic societies need, first of all, democracy; Israel has not had that for 30 years.
This is worth fighting a civil war for, if necessary. Because if it’s not done then there is no point in the right continuing to participate in the sham “democracy”. If it is impossible for us to achieve our goals through the ballot box, and there is no jury box, the soap box is restricted and in any case ineffectual, then we have no choice left but the fourth box. Is that really where our opponents want to drive us?! Or are we simply to submit and be forever a dhimmi people in our own country?
Bibi running to the Americans is exactly the problem
He has given up Chevron because of the Americans
He has put our soldiers in harms way because of the American
Hi should NOT be the PM or even in the Knesset
Judicial reform in Israel has nothing to do with America. America at this point has proven itself to be an enemy of Israel.
