Ichud (United) Hatzalah, one of the organizations involved in Lag B’Omer operations in Meron announces it has completed preparations for the event. According to CEO Ze’ev Kashash “We have prepared this year together with other security and rescue forces having learned the lessons of previous years as well as the lessons from the levaya of HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Halevy Wosner ZT”L. I call on the tzibur at large to exhibit responsibility and to avoid leading to a life-threatening situation. Please avoid remaining in overcrowded areas including the tziyun and the dance areas”.

Galil Region Ichud Hatzalah Commander Nachi Klein adds “I am hopeful that following our preparations this year’s events will pass without incident”. He explains Ichud volunteers will be deployed in all areas, including entrances and approach areas to the tziyun.

Ichud volunteers will be deployed in line with Israel Police instructions. Hundreds of physicians, paramedics and EMTs will take part in the operation. As in past years Ichud Hatzalah will set up a frontal command center and there will be substations throughout the area.

Ichud officials’ add that in light of weather predictions of ‘sharav’ heatwave conditions on Lag B’Omer, they will be well stocked with water for distribution to visitors. Ichud remands persons with chronic conditions to bring their medications with them and to avoid overcrowded areas that may pose increased risk for complications. Special attention must be given to lighting flames throughout the entire area.

Ichud commanders have been in Meron for briefings and they all stand prepared for the upcoming operation. Ichud volunteers will be moving into position before Shabbos.
