AUDIO: All Safe After El Al Flight Makes Emergency Landing In Toronto Shortly After Taking Off To Tel Aviv

EL Al flight LY 30 flying from Toronto to Tel Aviv made an emergency landing shortly after the Boeing 767-3Q8 (ER) left Toronto.

The pilot declared an emergency after taking off from Toronto Tuesday evening.

The reason for the mayday call was an engine fire.

The pilot radioed the “Mayday” call, and immediately began dumping fuel, and requested that emergency crews be mobilized to await their arrival on the runway.

The plane landed 50 minutes after it took off on Runway 23 at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Bichasdei Hashem, There were no injuries.

It was unknown when the flight would once again be departing for Israel.

  1. To all those who are not aviation minded I will let you know what just happened in the video. The pilot declared an emergency saying that his right engine stopped working. Pilot then correct themselves saying that the engine may be on fire. The tower then asked him for the amount number of people on board and how much fuel is on board and if anything dangerous was on board. The pilot then ask for the ILS or instrument Landing system radio frequencies to help guide him in to land the plane with only one engine and requested that the fire department and ambulance services be ready in case something goes wrong. he then asked to be sent out 20 miles out to get a good approach for the runway. The video then ends.
