Hadassah Doctors Declare A ‘Work Dispute’

1Doctors in Hadassah Hospitals, Ein Kerem and Mount Scopus, declared a ‘work dispute’ on Tuesday morning 12 Teves. They accuse the hospital of violating their rights as well as the quality of teaching to medical students. It is also explained the ‘work dispute’ with management was announced due to the freezing of academic appointments for doctors.

The reality of a ‘work dispute’ is that is signals a strike is imminent and the union may call a strike 14 days after a ‘work dispute’ is declared. The idea is that by declaring the work dispute management understands a strike is going to take place and the two-week hiatus is used to resolve issues and avoid a strike, which does not occur too often.
