Hikind & Paterson Good Pals

Albany, NY – There have been a parade of people going in and out of Gov. David Paterson’s second floor offices today and yesterday, including a few legislators. I’ve heard of at least two–Assemblymen Dov Hikind and David Koon–who have had an audience with Paterson.

Last week’s Times’ story stated that “some lawmakers say that despite the state’s crippling crisis, Mr. Paterson has seldom engaged with them, beyond denouncing them.” Both Koon and Hikind have something in common: they’re open about their support.

“He’s a friend. I like David. I always like to talk to him,” Hikind told me on the floor. “I support him. Period.”He is scheduled to see the governor today – he requested the meeting, and it was granted – but wouldn’t say specifically what he and Paterson will talk about.
