Thursday Morning News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


IDF soldiers taking part in counter-terrorism operations throughout Yehuda and Shomron during the night arrested six suspects.

** Tnuva will be dividing 240 million NIS in dividends to shareholders.

09:25: Kvish 6 was closed southbound from Baka el-Garbiya after a truck’s cargo dumped onto the highway.

** An Israeli hacker downs the Saudi meteorological website, warning hacker Omar OX to stop while he is ahead because much more cyber terror is coming his way.

** Prisoners at Massiyahu Prison in Ramle set mattresses ablaze. Those injured are all Israeli Arabs serving sentences for criminal convictions. Three were injured seriously, three moderately and one light.

** IDF reservists, high schoolers and parents protested at the Arlosoroff Train Station against chareidim, demanding they enlist in the IDF or national service. They called for abolishing the Tal Law.

** The Petach Tikvah District Court today extended the solitary confinement order or Yigal Amir for another six months. Amir is serving a life term for the murder of Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin.

14:30: All the suspects involved in the alleged attack against Natalie Moshiach in Beit Shemesh earlier this week were released to house arrest.

** 28th yahrzeit of the Baba Sali. Rishon L’Tzion R’ Shlomo Moshe Amar Shlita and public officials will be attending the main event beginning at 19:00. Police expect over 100,000 participants during the night. The actual yahrzeit this year falls on Shabbos.
