A suspect was arrested in a break-in at a bicycle shop in the heart of the chareidi neighborhood in the capital. A search of his home resulted in the discovery of the stolen property worth thousands of shekels.

About a week ago, the police station received a report that a break-in had occurred in a bicycle store in a chareidi area in the center of the city.

Police officers arrived at the scene and found the shop and noticed that the glass door at the entrance had been shattered and that the place had been burgled and goods and property stolen from it.

Investigators and members of the Israel Police’s forensics laboratory arrived at the scene and opened an investigation during which additional evidence and findings were collected using advanced technological means.

At the same time, the police found the owner and updated him about the theft.

As the investigation progressed and all the findings were analyzed, the identity of a resident of the eastern capital was identified as 18-years-old. Last night, police detectives raided his house and by means of a court order conducted a search, during which two pairs of electric bicycles were found worth about 14,000 NIS, which were allegedly stolen from the store.

The suspect was arrested and brought for questioning in the Crime Department at the Lev Ha’ir station on suspicion of burglary and theft. The store owner was summoned, and he identified the recovered merchandise. The suspect was arraigned and his remand extended.
