TRAGEDY: A 4-Year-Old From Kiryat Gat Dies Of Dehydration


A four-year-old girl from Kiryat Gat was suddenly Niftar on Wednesday morning.

The young girl was transported on Wednesday morning 22 Shevat by a MDA paramedic unit to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon. According to the medical staff, the girl died of severe dehydration after suffering diarrhea and vomiting over recent days.

The Magen David Adom team performed resuscitation and advanced life support, as did hospital personnel, but these efforts were unsuccessful.

The Barzilai Medical Center said: “The girl arrived in cardiac arrest and according to her parents, she was ill for two days before. Several tests were taken to determine the illness from which she suffered. Additional resuscitation attempts failed to bring the child back to life.”

The family reports they took the child to a Terem emergency clinic in the city hours earlier. They explained the girl suffered from diarrhea and vomiting for days but the medical team was not concerned and released her to go home.

The parents awakened during the early morning hours and heard the girl groaning in pain. They summoned an ambulance. They live in Kiryat Gat and have two other children.

The report states Terem was contacted for a response, which was not available at the time of this article.
