VIDEO: Israel Prison Authority Chief Visits Prison Guard Attacked By Hamas Prisoner


Acting Chief of the Israel Prison Authority, Asher Vaknin, on Sunday night visited the wounded prison guard who was attacked by an imprisoned Hamas terrorist in Ketziot Prison.

Vaknin arrived at Be’er Sheva’s Soroka Medical Center and spoke with the wounded officer, Sagi Silwan, who was stabbed in the neck region. He is now out of life-threatening danger.

On Sunday evening, in Ketziot Prison, it was decided to relocate some of the Hamas prisoners from wing three to wing four. During the transfer, two of the terrorists attacked one of the prison guards, wounding him in the neck area.

The wounded officer was transported by helicopter to the trauma unit of Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva. According to the IPA, a second officer was also wounded, albeit, not seriously.

The hospital during the night listed the officer’s condition as moderate, and he is no longer in life-threatening condition.

Members of the IPA’s Masada unit storm the wing and gain control from the Hamas prisoners. The incident is under investigation by the IPA.
