In Addition To Running The URWP, What Else Is Shaked Demanding?

Negotiations between Ayelet Shaked and the URWP (United Right-Wing Party) headed by Rabbi Rafi Peretz continue. She is demanding the number one slot on the lineup, to push Peretz to the second slot. In addition, she is demanding 50% of the list for her people, correspondent Ze’ev Kam of KAN News reports.

The request entails an alternating list – to insert members from the New Right list and the URWP, alternating one of each throughout the list.

According to reports from the dati leumi media, the response from senior members of the URWP is “If these are the demands of the New Right, the party can run alone”, as clearly, Rabbi Rafi Peretz is unwilling to relinquish his leadership post, having invited Shaked to join the party in the number two slot.

Officials in the URWP feel an agreement with the New Right is a more natural one than with Otzma Yehudit, and they prefer reaching an understanding with the party, but the terms reported by Kam are unacceptable.

For now, it appears there will be at least two dati leumi lists, as was the case in the last election. One will be the URWP and the second the New Right, however, this time it will be headed by Ayelet Shaked, not Naftali Bennet, with the latter moving to the second slot.

Major-General (reserves) Matan Kahana of the New Right party told Reshet Bet Radio host Aryeh Golan on Sunday morning, that until July 15th, no unity agreements will be addressed by the New Right.

“We are now dealing with the establishment of a right-wing liberal, ethical, and true party that unifies religious and secular people. All this preoccupation between these and other works is at your own risk. We are not Netanyahu’s soldiers. We will do what is good for the right, what we believe in. Netanyahu is the leader of the right, this is true, but we are not doing what is good for Netanyahu, we are doing what is correct for the right, and we will unite when the time comes.

“Bennett said in the clearest possible way in the world: ‘No vote from the voters of the New Right right will go to the trash,’ and we will see to it that it is so.”
