The Asra Kadisha protests against the Binyan Shalem project in Beit Shemesh continued on Thursday, 9 Elul 5773. At least four people were arrested at of 3:15PM, police sources reported.
Asra Kadisha is demanding a total halt of construction at the site, unwilling to accept a ruling permitting limited work in an area in which no bones have been found to date.
Earlier in the week Asra Kadisha representatives visited with HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita in the Gadol Hador’s Bnei Brak home, leading to the rav appointing dayanim to probe the matter in depth and then release a psak Halacha.
For now, Asra Kadisha remains determined as it has organized four consecutive days of protests, protests that seem oblivious to the oppressive midday summer heat in Beit Shemesh. The organization vows to prevent any tractors from operating at the site for as long as a psak Halacha is not issued in the matter.
