After the Hamas terror group blatantly violated the so-called ceasefire on Wednesday evening, when terrorists opened fire on IDF forces along the Yellow Line, the IDF announced on Thursday that troops discovered a large rocket launcher with eight barrels and four rockets aimed at Israel.
B’Chasdei Hashem, no soldiers were injured by the terrorists’ gunfire.
After Hamas terrorists fired at IDF troops on Wednesday, the IDF carried out a wave of powerful strikes in Gaza on Wednesday evening and overnight, eliminating senior Hamas terrorists. According to the Saudi Al-Hadath outlet, two senior commanders in Hamas’ military wing were killed—Imad Aslim and Abdullah Abu Shamala.
Palestinian sources said that Aslim was the commander of the Zeitoun battalion and the deputy of Izz al-Din al-Haddad in the Gaza City Brigade. They added that he survived four assassination attempts in the war and was wounded in one of them.
Abu Shamala, who was the commander of the Hamas “naval commando” in the past, was killed in an attack in the Al-Mawasi area in the southern Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Kfir Brigade forces operating in the Yellow Line area in accordance with the ceasefire agreement uncovered the eight‑barrel launcher. The forces also found and seized weapons belonging to Hamas, including Kalashnikov rifles, grenades, explosive devices, and other military equipment.
“IDF troops in the Southern Command will continue to operate to clear the area, remove any immediate threat to IDF forces, and destroy terror infrastructure that could pose a threat to forces, residents of the western Negev, and Israeli citizens,” the statement added.
Images released by the IDF show that the launcher was damaged, apparently during its discovery by the forces.
