Former Shin Bet Director Ronen Bar and his wife were reportedly rushed out of the United Arab Emirates and flown back to Israel under heavy secrecy after an extraordinary security threat emerged during a high-level international security conference, according to a report by Channel 13 News.

Bar and his wife, Dafna Bar-Agassi, had traveled to the UAE to attend a special conference reportedly hosted by UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed. The gathering included senior intelligence, security, and government officials from numerous countries.

According to the report, an unusual security warning was received during Bar’s stay that raised serious concerns for his personal safety. Officials immediately ordered the couple’s evacuation, and they were quietly flown back to Israel.

While some Hebrew media reports suggested authorities feared a possible assassination attempt, no official confirmation has been provided regarding the nature of the threat.

Details of both the security alert and the evacuation were kept under a heavy veil of secrecy and have only now come to light.

Following publication of the report, however, a source close to the UAE strongly denied the claims.

The source insisted that the UAE foreign minister did not host such a conference “not recently and not in recent years,” and dismissed reports that Bar had been evacuated from the country, calling them “completely baseless.”

The source also stressed that the UAE maintains a longstanding policy of avoiding involvement in Israel’s internal political affairs and would not allow itself to become entangled in domestic political disputes.

Ronen Bar declined to comment on the report.
