The Lesson for Hamas – Terror Pays

7.jpgAfter the Sharm el-Sheikh donor conference on Monday, the lesson for Hamas is that terror does indeed pay. After the Hamas regime has openly rejected any and all calls to abandon terrorism as a means to an end, refuses to recognize Israel’s right to exist, continues to hold Gilad Shalit, continues to fire rockets into Israeli civilian population centers, continues its contacts with Iran and Damascus, the international community awards the terrorist regime with a gift of no less than $4.5 billion, under the guise of rebuilding Gaza.

Waiting on line to write out checks, donor nations did just that, each seeking a major role in what they perceive is a fulfillment of their humanitarian obligation. The USA pledged $900 million, Saudi Arabia $1 billion, European Union $680 million, UAE $426 million, and Kuwait $220 million.

As has been the case in the past, there are promises of transparency and assurances the funds will be used as ear-marked, but as President Shimon Peres told Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store, the funds in the past have been used to support terrorism, to fund the rockets that are fired into Israeli population centers on a regular basis.

  1. Did the Israelis not learn from their Lebanon debacle and Gaza evacuation? They should not have given in one bit this last time and used their force. Show some strength and then Hashem will help. Without doing the right thing, how can they just expect Hashem to do a miracle and just make the terrorists disintegrate?Arabs are known for their open defiant lying.Ms Hillary will not succeed with her “make- nice” policy, either.

  2. The nevuos are coming true… all the nations of the world coming against us. It might not seem so public yet, but if you think about it, giving millions of dollars to terrorists who want to kill us is a pretty big statement. Europe hates us, the U.S. Secretary of State hates us. They “negotiate” with animals. You either gotta be stupid or hate us just as much as them. These so called humanitarian obligations are a cheap cover up to supporting the downfall of Israel. We need to do as much teshuva as we can for all this to go away. Thanks to YWN for letting us express our feelings and opinions! Maybe a bit of achdus can make a difference
