An Israeli was found guilty and sentenced to four years imprisonment in a plea bargain agreement. The man entered the Iranian Consulate in Istanbul during a 2006 visit, offering information. He was found guilty of assisting an enemy nation, divulging information to the enemy and related charges.

The man offered to compromise Israel�s interests by providing classified security information to the Iranians. The convicted spy was taken into custody upon his return to Israel in May 2008. A judicial gag order prevents disclosure of other details of the case, including his identity.
