Kidnapping attempt thwarted by IDF near Gaza

idf soldiers cover.jpgFour Arab terrorists posing as journalists, driving an SUV labeled TV, placed a bomb at the Gaza/Israel security fence – blew a hole through it – and drove up to an IDF outpost. The terrorist crashed their SUV into an IDF jeep and proceed to attack the soldiers by firing automatic weapons and throwing grenades. The soldiers quickly took up positions and proceeded to fire back at the terrorists – killing one. The other three Arabs fled back into Gaza.

Arutz 7 reported that Maj.-Gen. Yoav Galant told them that “proper readiness by the IDF forces of the Gaza Division and the right actions in the field foiled the attack, apparently a kidnapping attempt.”

The IDF confirmed to multiple media outlets that the terrorists were aimed at kidnapping IDF soldiers.

The IDF has retaliated early Sunday morning by launching an air-strike at an Islamic Jihad office in Gaza City. No injuries were reported – but damage was reported to be extensive.
