William H. Paul, the son of Sen. Rand Paul, issued a public apology after allegedly making antisemitic remarks toward Rep. Mike Lawler during a confrontation at a Capitol Hill bar.
Paul wrote that he “had too much to drink” and said things that “don’t represent who I really am,” adding that he is now seeking help for his drinking problem.
The apology comes after reports that Paul blamed “Jews” for Rep. Thomas Massie’s political troubles and made a series of anti-Israel and antisemitic comments during the exchange with Lawler.
