UPDATE: Police have launched a major operation to clear protesters blocking Jerusalem’s main entrance after demonstrators refused repeated orders to disperse.
Authorities say officers and Border Police are using crowd-control measures, including a water cannon and mounted police units, to reopen roads and restore traffic flow. Police also reported rescuing soldiers, buses, and civilian vehicles trapped by the blockades.
Additional disturbances were reported in Pisgat Ze’ev and along the Golda Meir–Begin corridor, where protesters disrupted traffic.
Several arrests have been made for rioting and allegedly assaulting police officers. Police say three officers sustained minor injuries during the clashes.
Security forces remain deployed at multiple locations and are continuing efforts to restore order.
