NYC: Citi Bikes Now Available to All

IMG_2309Citi Bikes are now available to the general public.

The nation’s biggest bicycle-sharing program launched last Monday to select members. Now the 6,000 bikes at 300 stations are available to anyone with a credit or debit card who wants to ride them.

Annual subscribers who pay the $95 yearly fee can unlock the three-gear, cruising-style bikes from any station, take them for 45-minute rides and return them to any rack. Others can buy a 24-hour pass for about $10 and a seven-day pass for $25; both allow for an unlimited number of 30-minute trips.

The privately financed program will expand to 10,000 bikes docked at 600 places in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.
