Can One Man Change The World ?

The Legacy Of Rav Noach Weinberg:

A Project Inspire Tisha B’av Presentation

He was larger than life, a single human being who was ready to take on the world.  And while Reb Noach Weinberg, Zt’l, is best known as the legendary founder and driving force behind Aish HaTorah, he was also a multi-faceted and dynamic visionary leader  who was involved in countless endeavors to benefit klal yisroel.

On Tisha B’av , Sunday August 11th, the Jewish community will have the opportunity to learn the real story of Reb Noach, the man for whom nothing was impossible and who made a huge impact on millions of Jews around the world.  Simply by logging onto projectinspire.com and following the prompts, viewers will be able to access the hour long video presentation that will reveal the world of Reb Noach like nobody has ever seen before.

Did you know that Reb Noach Weinberg was involved in combating Islamist extremists in Eretz Yisroel?  That he was the innovator of hasbarah fellowships for the Israeli government? That the government actually funded his efforts to combat anti semitic bias on college campuses?  And that he was the driving force behind the establishment of the Sderot Media Center in response to the rocket attacks that rained down upon that city from Gaza?

“Neither did we,” says Yossie Friedman, Managing Director of Project Inspire, a program of Aish HaTorah. “When we started working on this project, our goal was to highlight Reb Noach’s legendary involvement in kiruv.  But instead we were blown away by the many different ways he worked behind the scenes to combat the threats that faced klal yisroel , both spiritual and physical. His sense of achrayus for the Jewish people was unlimited and unsurpassed.  There’s nobody else in our generation quite like him.”

The film explores Reb Noach’s life from the very beginning.  Rav Aharon Feldman, Rosh Yeshiva of Ner Yisroel, shares his childhood memories of growing up in Baltimore together with Reb Noach, who was striving to become a talmid chochom even as a youngster.  Later, as an ambitious young bochur, he decided to travel to Eretz Yisroel by boat, determined to discuss his plans of saving klal yisroel with the Chazon Ish.

Alas, the Chazon Ish was niftar while young Reb Noach was still en route.  But that didn’t stop him. Instead of returning to America frustrated and disappointed, he remained in Eretz Yisroel, learned in the Mirrer Yeshiva, got married and started a family.  He also rolled up his sleeves and began his lifelong work of setting up an empire of kiruv that has changed the Jewish world.

The story of Reb Noach Weinberg is the story of a man with endless optimism.  He was unflappable and unstoppable. Nothing was impossible for him. No task was too large, no project too daunting.

“According to Reb Noach,” Friedman explains, “the words ‘I can’t’ didn’t even exist.  He would say that it’s simply apikorsus. Because if we really believed that Hashem can do anything, then it’s our achrayus to take responsibility and do our part.  And when we do, anything can happen.”

Join thousands of members of klal yisroel on Tisha B’av in watching the story of a man with a spectacular legacy.  Discover the untold story of Reb Noach’s huge impact upon the future of the Jewish people on so many levels.  Listen to the riveting memories of Rav Yitzchak Berkovits, Aish Hatorah’s incoming Rosh Yeshiva, the amazing stories of Charlie Harary, and the tributes of dozens of former talmidim who owe their spiritual lives to Reb Noach.  Learn about this unique and unstoppable individual who changed the world, the man who could never say never.
