Good Riddance: Vaad HaTznius Member Heads To Prison

Meah Shearim Vaad Tznius member Shmuel Weissfish  begins his two-year prison term today, 6 Teves 5772 for his acts of violence against people and businesses in Meah Shearim that did not conform to his standard.

The High Court of Justice last month rejected an appeal by Weissfish’s legal team, his last chance of avoiding a two-year prison term.

The conviction against Weissfish includes a number of counts, such as extortion, threats and accepting payoff protection funds from storeowners in the area.

  1. ah, but it was all in the name of the Lord, so it must be OK.
Good luck to Shmueli in bringing observance to those poor unfortunates who never knew what authentic Judaism is. Now with Shmueli with them, they will undoubtedly see the light!

  2. The eidah hachareidis would not agree with the headline. But then again I forgot that Ywn is representing the yeshiva world
