Florida In Brooklyn: Storobin Campaign Workers Block Fidler Workers From Entering Office

Not very classy.

Today, in a stunt that would make Florida Republicans proud, Storobin campaign workers showed up at Councilman Fidler’s district office, blocking constituents and staff from entering the office. Mr. Storobin’s friends were relocated by the police.

Councilman Lew Fidler issued the following statement:

“Mr. Storobin’s stunt is disrespectful to the people he claims to want to serve. During the last nine days, I have continued serving my constituents, recognizing that the Senate Republicans, not caring if the 27th Senate district is represented, are working as hard as possible to delay a fair and accurate count. I have attended hearings and meetings of the City Council, and community meetings throughout my district. Last night I testified at the Board of Education hearing on the closing of Sheepshead Bay High School, which Mr. Storobin could not find the time to do. If Mr. Storobin wants to conduct his falsely-premised protest in front of my campaign headquarters, that’s just fine. But his attempt to obstruct the operations of my Council office is out of line.

  1. Why would Storobin demonstrate in front of Fidlers office? What ends up being fair is the process of counting the ballots. Does Storobin not care about our disabled and seniors that need to vote by absentee ballots? This is an insult to our Community and a continued effort of Storobin to make people think that Fidler is doing something wrong.

  2. What is this about Florida Republicans? Whatever your beef with Storobin, why libel the Florida Republicans? I assume you’re referring to the time when the Miami-Dade board of elections illegally took the ballots into a private room and the Republican observers forcibly protested, and prevented them from doing whatever they planned to do there. Do you support stealing elections, as the board was undoubtedly planning to do?

  3. Lew is completely put of line. These are the exact people who Lew is trying to disenfranchise because they are Russian, and don’t drink from the liberal kool-aid bowl that some other pockets of emigrees do.
And for him not testifying against school closings, as he isn’t a member of the community, wasn’t invited by community board, & not an elected official, he can’t testify at the community meeting, and since he isn’t a sitting councilman with an entitlement complex he can’t be voting in city council. And as for complaining about not caring about the vacancy, at the end of election day, david storobin was the winner, and only today is he finally up by ONE vote. Talk about grandstanding to the enth degree!

  4. THIS ELECTION HAS BEEN SO PATHETIC AND AMUSING. WITH ALL THE COVERAGE ON YESHIVA WORLD AND OTHER ORTHODOX MEDIA YOU WOULD THINK THESE TWO CLOWNS ARE FIGHTING FOR PRESIDENT. EVERY TIME THEIR NAMES ARE MENTIONED IN A STORY, THAT STORY IS SYNONYMOUS WITH PATHETIC.

ITS TIME WE JUST IGNORE THESE PEOPLE. THEY’RE IMMATURE AND CHILDISH BEHAVIOR ARE INEFFABLE. WHY DO YOU POST STORIES LIKE THESE? THEY’RE WORTHLESS. SOON THESE TWO CLOWNS WILL GET INTO A PHYSICAL FIGHT, WITH LEW POUNCING STOROBIN AND ENDING ALL THIS MADNESS!

  5. The way Florida Republicans win elections is by getting substantially more votes than the Democrats. They’ve been quite good at it lately.

  6. Akuperma, that’s only part of it. They also have to stop Democrats from counting votes that aren’t there, or changing votes to how the voter “should” have voted.
