Meet the Real Abu Mazen on his Arabic Facebook Page

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), the “moderate” leader yearning for peace with Israel based on the two-state solution based on the pre-June 1967 borders, tells what he really feels on his Arabic Facebook page. The PA leader explains he does not accept the two-state solution based on the pre-’67 borders since he demands other lands that were occupied by Israel in 1967.

The post is dated shabbos, 13 October 2012, in which he explains his plan to call upon the United Nations to recognize Palestine as a non-member nation. He speaks of the pressure being applied on him for and against such a move.

Regarding UN recognition, he explains that being accepted does not “free the lands” but he is certain that gaining legitimacy by the international body will post facto legitimize the Palestinian claim to the lands, which he adds “are not disputed”, namely they do not belong to Israel but to his people. He simply does not recognize Israel.

He states he is not just referring to areas of Yehuda, Shomron, but all the areas “occupied by Israel in 1967”.

Former Israeli Ambassador to Egypt Yitzchak Levanon explains that this attitude, “that all of Israel is occupied will prevent reaching a peace agreement with the PA”.

The ambassador adds the posting contradicts the position taken by the PA leader in documents given to US President Barak Obama, in which Abu Mazen expressed his commitment to the two-state solution.

  1. “The post is dated shabbos, 13 October 2012”

I highly doubt the date on Facebook lists it as Shobbos. I have heard from multiple gedolim that when referencing the seventh day of the week for secular matters, it is more appropriate to call it Saturday, as opposed to Shobbos. I would venture that the same applies, or even more so, when referencing Abu Mazan’s Facebook page.

  2. I guess the arab yemach sh’mo forgot that Facebook is public. This is what he says in his arabic speeches that people don’t want to translate.

  3. I can easily believe Abbass wrote this. Most Arabs do not accept Israel because they divide the world into two, Dir al Charev and dir al Islam. Dir al Charev is the world that needs to be conquered for Islam and it is a ‘mitzvah’ for them to continually fight against the infidels to convert them and their land to Islam.

The second category is dir al Islam. this means that this is land that has be captured and hence, ‘converted’ to Islamic rule. Since Turkey is Islamic and they ruled Palestine, modern Israel is considered dir al Islam and must be returned to the fold of Islam ASAP!

That is why no Arab especially their leaders can really accept Israel as a Jewish state.

I truly suggest that all people get a copy of the Koran and read it in the WC, which is where it should stay, in order to know more about our enemies. This is, in my opinion, permitted by halacha, since reading it is not for learning how to follow there religion, but understanding how to protect oneself.
