Rabbi From Ateret Kohanim Yeshiva Stabbed In Old City

IMG01001.jpgA rabbi affiliated with the Ateret Kohanim Yeshiva in the so-called Muslim Quarter of Jerusalem’s Old City was stabbed and moderately wounded in a terror attack earlier this morning.

The attack occurred near the Damascus Gate. According to at least one eyewitness, the victim’s life was saved by a student of the yeshiva who fought the attacker, resulting in him fleeing the scene. The student indicated the rabbi would have been murdered if not for his intervention.

According to officials in Jerusalem’s Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, the condition of the victim is improving, and is now listed in light-to-moderate condition. His condition was originally reported to be moderate or worse.

Rabbi Yechezkel Greenwald, 49, a resident of Beit El, was stabbed by an Arab attacker as he made his way to Ateret Kohanim Yeshiva – were he is employed as a teacher.

According to police, one of the many security cameras in and around the Old City of Jerusalem did capture the terrorist’s face and his photo has been distributed to police in the area as the manhunt continues.

  1. Is it not amazing how the arabs can walk around freely in the CAPITAL CITY of Israel??!!! They can walk around and stab people! They can walk up to Mercaz Harav! Try to walk around any Arab city and see how long you last….The Israeli politicians have their heads in the sand. Very scary. Hashem Yeracheim.

  2. Zeit: The difference is that Jews are, thankfully and obviously, not Arabs. Therefore, Arabs have no fear walking in a Jewish neighborhood.

I think it’s more the Zionist followers who have their head in the sand than the religiously-unaffiliated politicians. The politicians know very well what they’re doing since, after all they are the ones making the decisions and receiving the intel from the IDF; the people who BELIEVE in them (and those who BELIEVE in Zionism, whether “religious” or secular), however, are the ones who to seem to have their heads in the sand.

  3. “Is it not amazing how the arabs can walk around freely in the CAPITAL CITY of Israel??!!! ”

it’s amazing that Arabs are allowed to walk around ANY part of Israel. When Rabbi Kahane HY”D proposed to kick them all out, all the hareidi parties voted to kick him out of Knesset. Now, we continue to feel the effects of that decision.

THe politicians in Knesset only know what lies to say in order to get reelected. They know how to raise money for their campaigns. They know how to fight Torah, and how to endanger the existance of Medinat Yisrael. As for solving any serious problems, the politicans are completely lost and unable to act reasonably or logically.

  4. don’t make it doom and gloom right before purim. we jews have problems and we shall solve them .we need to increase our ahavas chinom and don’t look at the arabs and their behaviour. they have rights in israel because we jews don’t become inhumane as a result of arab inhumanity.i know some of our problems look very difficult, however, we shall solve them and lets hope with moshiach bekorav mamesh.

  5. There is no such thing for frum jews as “humanity.” When you talk about humane, you are talking about secular humanism, an enemy religion. We must do only what Hashem asks of us, whether or not it is “humane” or “inhumane”, just like we don’t care if Buddha or yoshka would approve of it.

  6. Hakatan,
What a load of crock.. “intel from the idf” do you know how silly that sounds here in israel?

The IDF does not know their head from their foot! Shabak is too busy probing “jewish terror” its a joke..

The army is all politix.. sing the song of the politicians.. we had a defense minister that was a captain in the tank corps! We had a chief of staff that was kicked out because he dared to oppose the expulsion from Gush Katif..

The army is too busy cowering and knows nothing.. they do have time to sign warrants forbiding 20+ yidden from going to their homes in yehuda v’shomron.

No sir the politicians only know whats good for them.. who pays them, pats them on the back.. kinda like a poodle.

  7. Doom777,

You missed the last line ” lets hope with moshiach bekorav mamesh.” is (mamesh thingey) not a new cult??
