Oh,no. Long rant listing terrible effects of such an occurrence.
January 4, 2016 5:13 pm at 5:13 pm #1121468MsPrincessMemberthey like jewish music.
January 4, 2016 7:37 pm at 7:37 pm #1121469screwdriverdelightParticipantIf non Jews listen to Jewish music, they’ll like it and adopt it as their own. Meanwhile, Jews are busy adopting non Jewish music as their own, so the result would be that people will think that non Jewish music is really Jewish music.
January 4, 2016 8:55 pm at 8:55 pm #1121470MsPrincessMemberscared driver delight – not that MANY non jews listen to jewish music only my cleaning lady.

January 5, 2016 5:33 am at 5:33 am #1121476yehudayonaParticipantThere used to be a guy who would drive around my neighborhood on Shabbos with Jewish music playing in his car. Dunno if he was a goy.

January 5, 2016 5:43 am at 5:43 am #1121477MsPrincessMemberno clue maybe someone otd who still liked jewish music?
January 6, 2016 12:40 am at 12:40 am #1121478longarekelMemberwhat is ‘jewish’ music? music is part of reality. ever seen a jewish tree?
January 6, 2016 7:21 pm at 7:21 pm #1121479screwdriverdelightParticipantThings that are part of reality can’t be Jewish?
January 6, 2016 7:58 pm at 7:58 pm #1121480zahavasdadParticipantmatisyahu had a significant non-jewish following
January 7, 2016 12:55 am at 12:55 am #1121481☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantZD, I think you’ve gone off topic.
January 7, 2016 1:10 am at 1:10 am #1121482☢️ Rand0m3x 🎲ParticipantDaasYochid:
(Burn! )
Only using the popular definition of “Jewish music” –
namely, “music created by and for Orthodox Jews.”
January 7, 2016 1:25 am at 1:25 am #1121483☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantEven using that definition, did he not intend his music for a wider audience?
On topic, we once had a non Jewish worker in the house who liked Regesh, and even went to a Judaics store to buy a CD.
January 7, 2016 1:41 am at 1:41 am #1121484☢️ Rand0m3x 🎲ParticipantWeren’t you saying ZD was off-topic,
implying that Matisyahu wasn’t Jewish music?
January 7, 2016 1:44 am at 1:44 am #1121485☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantYes.
January 7, 2016 1:52 am at 1:52 am #1121486☢️ Rand0m3x 🎲ParticipantDoes that not fit only with that definition?
January 7, 2016 2:26 am at 2:26 am #1121487ShoytaParticipantwhen the song “Ban mir bist du sheyn” came out:
1) It was sung by a non- jewish group (Andrew Sisters)
2) Every Italian brick layer in NYC could be heard singing it as he worked
January 7, 2016 6:33 pm at 6:33 pm #1121488👑RebYidd23ParticipantThe Jewish themes in Matisyahu’s music makes it too Jewish for people who are careful not to listen to Jewish music.
