FULL VIDEO: Internet Asifa At CitiField

Embedded below is a 4 hour video of the entire Asifa which was held this past Sunday at CitiField. The Asifa was attended by more than 50,000 people, seated in both CitiField, and neighboring Arthur Asch Stadium. It was also broadcast live to many other locations which were packed with thousands and thousands of people. Additionally, the video has since been shown in communities around the globe.

It should be noted, that YWN has nothing to do with this video, we are simply publishing a link available on the Internet.

It is well understood that it seems ironic to be posting this video on the Internet. But Rabbonim felt that the incredible Achdus displayed at the Asifa may be Nisorer many, many people who were unable to attend.

The user may fast forward to any location in the video he/she chooses, as some would like to listen to particular speeches.

ENGLISH SPEECHES:

HaRav Elya Brudny Shlita (from Arthur Asche Stadium) 25:30

HaRav Ephrayim Waxman (from CitiField) 37:10

HaRav Ephrayim Waxman (from CitiField) 1:24:00

HaRav Mattisyahu Solomon (from CitiField) 3:26:00

  1. To a frum Jew:
Have a non-jewish friend download it and put it on a usb stick.

Bonus: you will make an incredible kiddush HaShem when the aino yehudi see how well behaved we were at the Asifa, with no one streaking on the field or jeering the other team; scratch that, lets just stick with the lack of jeering.

However, first ask your local Rav if it’s assur b’hanah because its from the internet.

  2. Y_dont, tongue in cheek aside, there’s no Kiddush Hashem in spending 4 hours watching the video. What would be useful is to do as the Gedolim said and stop visiting Internet sites outside from extreme parnosso needs, including this one. I don’t expect chizuk for that from other visitors to this site, but just in case, how does someone un-register?

  3. Thank you very much for posting this. It would also be incredibly helpful if you could also provide a transcript (with translation). I understand this is a huge undertaking, but i just don’t have 4 hours to sit and watch a video online.

Then “the internet” does have some (rather high) value. The speeches seemed to me to relegate value to “business” only.

    Hmmm…..

You see, this is the problem with excessive hyperbole. Cognitive dissonance can only last so long.

  5. Is Rov Vozner’s psak on this video, too? If so, can anyone provide the position of it on the video above?
    Thanks!

  6. Can’t see any you tube videos – I have a filter – can YWN once and for all make thier videos availble via their servers??

That would be a home run….!

  7. Koshernet blocked the video for me.
I noticed that many shiurim that my shul uploads I cannot access.
We need a kosher file sharing site.
Can you someone suggest a solution?
This would be very helpful for the tzibur.
A more public form of Kol Halshon would be great.
If you have not tried it yet, check it out.
I just noticed all of Rav Avigdor Miller’s zt’l shiurim are there.
HebrewBooks.org is also a great resource. I can access any sefer anytime I want.

  8. I would like to commend all those who took the initiative to address these issues. “Ein mezarzim ella l’mizurazim! We all need to be cognizant of the issues and make the resolve to improve ourselves.
I just have one ha’ara that I would like to understand. Are statements such as “children from families who have internet without a filter should not be allowed into schools” applicable to those living out of town? To many out of town this might a gezeira sh’ein hatzibbur yochol l’amod bo thus minimizing the effect of all the pesokim that were given. Maybe a differentiation is necessary.

  9. “It is well understood that it seems ironic to be posting this video on the Internet.”

I disagree. There is nothing ironic about it. There is nothing wrong with the internet if it is used properly. The objective of this gathering was to make people aware of the potential dangers involved with using the internet and I think they did a very good job.

If you aren’t aware of the dangers and potential pitfalls, how can you possibly protect yourself from them?
