PHOTOS: Massive 7-Alarm Blaze In Lower East Side On Manhattan


12:28PM EST: [PHOTOS BELOW] Firefighters are currently battling a massive fire on Manhattans Lower East Side.

The FDNY has transmitted a 7th Alarm for heavy fire in a building located at 285 Grand Street (near Forsyth Street). YWN reporters on the scene report that there is fire showing on all floors of the structure, and is pushing through the roof as well. The building is a 6 story 20×80 occupied dwelling.

All FDNY personnel have been pulled from the building.

At least six people are confirmed injured, and East Side Hatzolah is staging on scene along with dozens of FDNY Ambulances.

The first FDNY personnel arrived on the scene at 10:17PM.

UPDATE 6:49AM EST: A total of 33 patients have been transported to the hospital – 29 firefighters, 1 EMS worker, and 3 civilians.

FDNY Marshall’s are investigating the cause of the blaze.
