Wintry Mix Hitting Upstate New York To Start Week

snowUpstate New York is getting hit with a wintry mix of weather as the work week begins, with a foot of snow possible in some parts of the Adirondacks and lake-effect snow belts.

About an inch of snow has fallen in areas north of Albany early Monday morning, while places closer to the city are getting a mix of sleet and rain.

The National Weather Service has posted a winter weather advisory in western New York for Monday and a lake-effect snow warning Monday night through Wednesday morning. Snow is expected to accumulate to three to six inches in general snow areas and localized amounts of one to two week in lake-effect bands.
