Will PM Netanyahu Join President Trump At The Kosel?

President Donald Trump is scheduled to arrive at the Kosel on Monday, 26 Iyar, at 3:15PM. Mr. Trump will become the first America president to visit the Kosel.

Speaking to Kol Berama Radio on Sunday morning, L. Marc Zell, head of the Republican Party in Israel, explains in recent days he has been in London and other areas, in contact with persons in charge of Trump’s delegation to arrange his visit here.

Zell explains Chief Rabbi of the Kosel and Holy Sites Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz Shlita will officially greet President Trump when he arrives at the Kosel, adding he is hopeful that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will decide to be present at the Kosel as well. Zell explains that while he cannot detail the content of his meetings in Europe, he would confirm that they addressed the Kosel visit and Mr. Netanyahu’s presence for the Trump visit among other items.

Due to the controversial status of the Kosel in the eyes of the international community, President Trump’s visit to the Kosel is billed as a private visit of religious sites.

  1. If there are concerns about complicating future negotiations, why does Netanyahu feel he has to tag along everywhere Trump goes. Give the Trumpkopf his few moments of “private contemplation:” at the kosel with Rav Rabinowitz as his host without making it a political event.
