A biblical taxidermy museum in Borough Park will soon close its doors.
Torah Animal World holds hundreds of taxidermy animals mentioned in the first five books of the Old Testament. Rabbi Shaul Shimon Deutsch, who runs the museum, says he had to make a decision to sell the building. Deutsch says the museum, synagogue and food pantry he operates in the area have not seen many donations recently, which led to the buildings closure.
The collection of museum artifacts worth $1.5 million will be split between another borough park location and a museum branch in the Catskills.
Many of the animals in the collection were donated but others were paid for, including a $40,000 elephant head.
Deutsch said he doesn’t want to sell the building and is still holding out hope for a miracle.

Maybe his first step towards raising money should be to sell the $40,000 elephant head. Elephants are not found in 24 books of the bible, and certainly not in the first five books.
Rabbi Deutsch runs an excellent museum.
Problem today is that money is so so so TIGHT, and there are so many needs, all valuable and worthy.
Rabbi Deutsch knows exactly what hes doing. This is def. a buisness stunt. I just hope some of his Amish customers dont look to bail him out.
Trust me, he aint selling nothing.
