Rivlin: Holding Back PA Tax Funds is Not Beneficial

rivPresident Reuven Rivlin came out against the cabinet decision to freeze 500 million NIS in PA (Palestinian Authority) tax funds. Rivlin explained that PA leader Abu Mazen is moving ahead with his motions to the United Nations in violation of the Oslo Agreement with Israel, but this does not justify punitive actions.

Rivlin explained the tax funds collected by Israel for the PA permit the residents of the PA to sustain themselves and withholding these funds does not benefit Israel.

The president also spoke out against Abu Mazen for taking unilateral actions. He stated the PA leader is scared to reach an agreement with Israel for he might not be able to get his people to approve by the agreement. He called for understanding and the need to learn to live with one another. “We are not doomed to live with one another but we are meant to live together”.

  1. What happened to the “Right-wing Rivlin” we used to know as speaker in the likud days!?!
This guy gets more liberal-left by the day. First with Mohamed abu Khdeir, and hasn’t stopped since.

  2. What happened is that there never was a right wing Rivlin nor a Left wing one. He, as Yaalon, are sensible people, leaving ideology to the ideologists…
