There is currently a power outage in Rockland County, affecting several sections of Monsey as well as the Spring Valley neighborhood. More than 1000 people are without power in the frigid weather.
Rockland Chaverim reached out to YWN to have our readers living in the area to please check on elderly relatives and neighbors who might need assistance in these frigid temperatures.
Police have closed some major intersections due to no traffic lights. Those include Monsey Boulevard and Maple Avenue as well as Route 306 and Maple Avenue.
Rockland Chaverim have delivered at least two generators to people on life support.
The electric company says that they hope to have the power restored around 3:00PM.
