Yeshiva Elementary in Miami Under Lock-down after Security Guard Finds Pressure Cooker Outside


20150304075455UPDATE: The pressure cooker was found to be empty after being detonated by Miami Dade Police.  B’H The school lockdown has been lifted and road travel restrictions have been eased.

EARLIER REPORT BELOW:

The Miami PD has closed 78th-80th St. along Byron, Carlyle and Dickens Ave  to all traffic after a suspicious object was found near the premises of a Yeshiva Elementary school. 

 

The Yeshiva is currently under lock down. The bomb squad has been called in to detonate the suspicious package as a precaution and we are awaiting the all clear.

Natalie Zea of CBS4 tweeted that a security guard for the Yeshiva  found the pressure cooker across the street .

Miami Beach Police Tweeted that an evacuation order has not been made. For this reason, they are asking parents not come to the area to pick up their children at this time. The suspicious package was found just after 9:15 a.m.
