New Information Pertaining to the Murder of Farmer David Bar-Kappara

dbkPolice assigned to the Central District investigations unit have released findings in the murder investigation of David Bar-Kappara, who was beaten to death by PA (Palestinian Authority) residents in his Rehovot area farm.

According to allegations, two 22-year-old PA (Palestinian Authority) residents beat him to death in an orchard; Majahad Ali Dar Assi, and Allaa Harbi Abed Assi. Mr. Bar-Kappara HY”D was found gravely wounded in the orchard. He died of his injuries a short time later in Assaf HaRofeh Hospital.

Israel Police Central District Chief Moti Cohen who was in charge of the investigation, working with the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) in the early stages, reports one of the suspects, Majahad was employed by Mr. Bar-Kappara two months before the murder. Majahad and his cousin Allaa on the day of the murder watched from afar as the victim sold grapes to a merchant. They then approached him and demanded money. They got into an argument and they began beating Mr. Bar-Kappara with a club all over his body. They then fled the area, leaving the victim to die. Hence police are concluding the death was a criminal homicide and not an act of terror.

The bereaved family, represented by Honenu, reject the police findings, insisting the PA residents beat Mr. Bar-Kappara to death and the act was an act of terrorism. They add the ISA is in agreement with them, but Israel Police says otherwise. Family members point out the murderers fled without take any money from their father, proving they were not interested in his money. They add they did not drive off in his vehicle, which is worth NIS 100,000.

“Our father’s blood is crying out and we will not rest until justice is served”, the family told the press, vowing to continue battling until the death of their father is recognized as the barbaric act of Arab terrorism it was”.
