Ramat Gan Mayor: Fire the Teacher Who Attacked the IDF Soldier

idRamat Gan Mayor Yisrael Zinger is calling on the ORT network to fire a teacher who participated in the assault against an IDF soldier in Nabei Salah last week. In addition to the mayor’s call, some of the graduates of the school who are serving in the IDF are planning to protest outside the school if the teacher is not fired.

In this case, Mayor Zinger is also head of the city’s Education Committee and he is working to get the teacher fired for her participation into the attack against the soldier, who decided to use restraint and refrain from harming the attackers.

A spokesman for the mayor adds “The Ramat Gan education system feels the teaching staff must maintain political neutrality towards a pluralistic system and open dialogue in an effort to teach the students tolerance and respect for the viewpoint of others. If this is not maintained it will compromise the education of our children and this will not be tolerated”.

The parents of the soldier who was assaulted has also turned to ORT to fire the teacher.

In its response, ORT states “We received complaints regarding the actions of the teacher but in this case the event occurred outside work hours and without any connection to the school. The matter is being clarified with guidance from the Ministry of Education”.
