UPDATE AT 1:30PM IL: The first reports of a stabbing attack arrived shortly after 1:00PM Israel time on Wednesday, 11 Teves. Ichud Hatzalah ambucycles report they were on the scene almost immediately. MDA ambulances also responded and EMTs and paramedics worked to treat three victims of the attack. Two were immediately reported in serious condition and Ichud Hatzalah reported CPR was being performed on one of them.

It was later learned one of the victims tried to fight off the attackers, who got on top of him and stabbed him repeatedly. Channel 2 reports that it appears one of the wounded may have been hit by gunfire directed at the terrorists. Both of the attackers were neutralized by gunfire. One died and the second is reported in serious condition.

Ichud Hatzalah Operations Officer David Krisfel explains the attack occurred on the route for pedestrians to the Kosel. Ichud ambucycles were on the scene in a very few short minutes and the size of their vehicle permitted them access to the scene without delay. After the victims were treated initially, they were taken to the waiting MDA ambulances for transport to trauma centers.

Shaare Zedek Hospital officials report one victim in critical condition and the second in serious condition. Hadassah Ein Kerem reports one victim in critical condition.  END OF SUMMARY

14:11: MDA EMT-3 Nassr Zahiman explains “I was giving a driving lesson when suddenly I saw the terrorists attacking and stabbing passersby. I stopped the vehicle and got out with equipment. I saw two victims lying on the ground with penetrating wounds in their upper bodies. I begin to treat them and additional units arrived very quickly”.

MDA Paramedic Aharon Adler adds “I saw a man about 45 lying supine on the ground, unconscious. He has stab wounds all over his upper body. We placed him on the intensive care unit ambulance immediately to begin life-saving treatment and begin transport to the hospital. He was given respiratory, pharmaceutical and other care enroute. We stopped the bleeding and gave him fluids as well”.

14:35: MDA reports it is sending 100 units of blood and components to Hadassah Ein Kerem and Shaare Zedek Hospitals following the stabbing attack.

13:41: MDA Paramedic Mordechai Ben-Arush told Channel 2 News one terrorist has died. Officials at Shaare Zedek Hospital report one victim is in critical condition and the second serious.

The preliminary investigation indicates one of the victims may have been wounded by gunfire directed at the terrorist and not from the attackers who were armed with knives. Once again, one terrorist has been killed and the second is in serious condition.

13:23: Channel 2 News reports there were two attackers, not one. Both appear to be neutralized. Magen David Adom reports three victims, two in serious condition and one moderate condition.

13:21: Ichud Hatzalah reports CPR is being performed on one victim. At least one other is in serious condition. The attacker has been shot and neutralized. It appears there was only one attacker.

  1. I walked past that very spot 6 weeks ago, and because of this unbelievable atrocity, I shall IY’H go back on another solidarity trip next week, and again walk past that very spot.

  2. Whats the excuse for the SILENCE OF THE JEWISH AND PRO ISRAEL GROUPS!! During Pres Bush term there were 100,000 in Washington! There is no end in sight to this and now the PA is OPENLY INCITING AND THEY PAY FUNDS TO TERRORISTS AND THEIR FAMILIES AND SPONSOR UN RESOLUTIONS DECLARING ALL HOLY SITES IN the Holy Land are Exclusivley Moslem and We are SILENT! Agudah – OU – Young Israel – UJA – ZOA – NJF – Why SILENCE!

  3. BenK, get up and DO something! Don’t just anonymously criticize, and don’t wait for someone else to do it! Take that passion and make an impact! Be the leader if no one else is doing it. Organize whatever and let this voice be heard

  4. I would agree with you BenK about the marchers. Alas, it seems the marching days for Soviet Jewry, solidarity with Israel, etc. is basically over for whatever reason. Interestingly, when Christian groups called for a march in solidarity in Washington a few years ago, thousands showed up.
I’d much rather see the rabbis, leaders, rebbes of Chasidic sects, RZs , Yeshivish, Chasidic, etc. march together in Jerusalem with their followers. TOGETHER.
When that day comes, we’ll know Moshiach’s around the corner. Let’s challenge them instead to set the example for us plain Yidden with Achdut. Yes, let them begin the march. Stabbings represent cutting-division-machlokes-separation. Maybe there’s a message here.

  5. I wholeheartedly agree with BenK about the apathy today and lack of organized protest rallies on behalf of Israel and their matzav. Why hasnt Agudah/OU/Conference of Rabbis/etc.
organized rallies? Why werent there massive protests on Washington when the Iran Nuclear deal was being decided. We will look back in shame for our apathy.
