Update on Former President Shimon Peres


tehillim8:00AM IL: The following update was provided on Wednesday morning 11 Elul by Prof. Rafi Walden, a son-in-law of Mr. Peres. “We are happy to see that when the anesthetic drugs were paused briefly, we realized he responds and is probably attentive to what we tell him. he shook our hands”.

Walden continued “At present, he is stable as we continue remaining at his side. We call on all of Am Yisrael to connect to us with tefilos and hope that he will make a recovery”.

Officials at Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer Hospital list the former president in serious/stable condition, adding he suffered a serious stroke.  The bleeding in his head stopped during the night and now doctors are working to assess the former president’s neurological status.

It is confirmed that he held the hand of one of the physicians treating him.

The Chief Rabbis of Israel call on the tzibur to be mispallel for Shimon ben Sara bsoch kol cholei am yisrael.

It is noteworthy that all of the gadolei yisroel who have said anything about Peres’ illness have done so in a uniformly positive way with pleas for the tzibur to say tehillim that he should have a refuah shelemah. There was a sad undercurrent yesterday of postings by lesser lights which made vile comments linking him to the Oslo accords, on which there is legitimate disagreement.
