Chareidi Women ‘For’ The Wall Want Their Say In The High Court Too

Jewish women, members of Women for the Wall, walk near ultra-Orthodox Jewish men in Jerusalem's Old CityChareidi women calling themselves “Women for the Wall” (WfW) have submitted an urgent petition to the High Court of Justice as the latter is reviewing petitions from Women of the Wall (WoW) and supporters to be permitted to bring private Sifrei Torah to the Kosel. The WfW want to be heard by the court and are asking to be listed among the respondents, as well as adding the Chief Rabbis as respondents.

The initiative is spearheaded by Leah Aaroni, who told Kikar News she and her colleagues are not about to sit back while a “small group of women try to change image of the Kosel and offending hundreds of thousands of women who regularly visit the Kosel without hearing their voices”.

She fears that after the Reform Movement did its damage in the USA it is now working to bring it here but she and her associates will not permit it. The WfW organization is comprised of women living in Israel and abroad and they remain committed to preserving the image and integrity of the Kosel as has been done throughout the ages.
