A terrorist during the predawn hours on Monday morning stabbed and wounded two border policemen at the Lion�s Gate of the Old City.
According to Magen David Adom, the attack occurred at about 4:00AM. Paramedics on the scene reported they sustained moderate injuries and were transported to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.
The terrorist approached and pulled a knife and began stabbing them in the upper body and head. Police fought the terrorist and Baruch Hashem manage to restrain him after a short time. The terrorist was wounded seriously.

What does that mean “that fought him” ? Why didn’t they shoot him? Perhaps they were scared do shoot him?

I demand a complete and thorough investigation into why they killed this poor helpless terrorist. Why couldn’t they just wound him and he could live happily ever after and kill more people
