The Chief Rabbi of the Samaria Regional Council and the Rabbi of the Town of Alon Moreh, Rabbi Elyakim Levanon was hospitalized on Sunday afternoon. The Rabbi was taken to Shaarei Tzedek Hospital in Yerushalayim after he suffered a heart attack.

Rabbi Levanon is the Rosh Yeshivah of Yeshivat Birkat Yoseph, and is one of the council members for the Yesha Council. He is currently under observation in the hospital. Relatives have said that his condition is good and that the outlook is positive for the moment.

His name to be inserted into prayers is Elyakim ben Chaya Freida.
