IDF Stands Ready For A Hizbullah Missile Attack

Last week, the IDF Navy completed a complex training in transporting the missile boats, and the training included two main scenarios of defense and attack at sea, the center of which was to prepare for the firing of the ‘Yachunat’ missiles by the Hizbullah.

In the first part of the training, an aircraft simulated the threat of a missile on a gas rig, with the threat identification by the ship’s defense systems, the ‘Barak’ defense system installed on the ship intercepted it successfully.

The IDF has revealed that new systems have been installed on the ship, the ‘Saar 4.5’, in the areas of detection, electronic warfare and observation, one of which is the “Magal Aish” radar, which significantly improved the detection and tracking capabilities of the ship.

In the second scenario, a naval target simulating an enemy ship was attacked by a pair of naval cruise missiles launched from the Lahav and Achi ships, the target was successfully hit and destroyed.

Commander of the exercise, Colonel Adar Gershon: “The training contributed to the readiness and professionalism of naval fighters. The missile squadrons are prepared and prepared for all threats in the maritime sector.”
