Assaf HaRofeh Hospital is located in Rishon L’Tzion. It is named after a physician who lived in Tiveria some 1,500 years ago, Assaf Ben-Berchayahu.
Ahead of his time, he wrote a book, in Hebrew, addressing health and cleanliness issues, mentioning novel ideas such as exercise, clean living and clean water, and ingesting health food.
