Rechovot Chief Rabbi Simcha HaCohen Kook Shlita in an Israel Radio interview stated the request made by the Vatican, which lists 14 sites in Yerushalayim, is a very serious matter.
Rav Kook stated what he sees as necessary is the Vatican’s handover of Mt. Tzion in the Old City, the location of Kever Dovid, which he added Rav Shimon Bar Yochai stated “Dovid Chai VeKayam” and Am Yisrael has davened at the site for decades.
