Dr. Shaked of Soroka Medical Center in Beersheva gave the following update on the two IDF soldiers wounded in the shootout with terrorists along Kissufim on erev shabbos.
The critically injured soldier, Guy Elmakayis has undergone emergency thoracic surgery to address his life-threatening injuries, including damage to his lungs. He is exhibiting “significant improvement” considering his injuries, and he is conscious and alert, listed in stable condition Baruch Hashem.
The second soldier was listed in light condition with shrapnel injuries to his leg upon his arrival. He too is recuperating.
